The Word of God Obliterates Unbelief – Check it out!

So much emphasis today is on the power of personal persuasion in sharing the gospel. What to say, how to say it. Reasons to believe, proofs for the authority of scripture -methods for gaining credibility blah blah blah. It’s always helpful to hear an actual testimony of how someone got saved. Let them report in their own words what penetrated their hearts. Listen for Christ himself coming to a man through scripture in this incredible story of personal conversion from our services this past weekend. Whatever you say when you share Christ, USE THE WORD OF GOD itself!

  Like Scott God used the introduction to Harvest and James MacDonald through Walk in the Word to change my life. I would like to try and give my testimony here so that the brothers and sisters I have at Harvest might know that God is using you in a powerful way. Christ came to me as a child at 6 or 7 years old, at that time in my life my parents were active in the church and I was attending a small christian school. Shortly after that however I was placed in public school and we seemed to stop going to church. I stoped reading the word and slowly walked away from the Lord. I finally had reached the bottom of the bucket and despaired, I lost all hope and felt utterly lost and useless to all the people who depended on me. I was in as dark a place as I believe a person who knows the Lord could be.

  More and more I began to turn my radio on in the morning, one radio program above the others began to grab my attention. There was this little jingle you may be familiar with, it goes like this….. walk, walk, in the word. The music reminded me of what I already knew, as a believer I should be walking in the word of God. I started listening to James hammer away and I began to feel God working on me. Several months went by with me listening each day often listening to the same lesson 3 times a day. I started bringing my bible with me to read along in the day.

  At the first of the year James started the series Always True: 5 Great and Precious Promises of God, I began to realize I was not claiming these things in my life and I knew as His child I should be, but I did not feel it and this bothered me. Then it happen, James began talking about Jeremiah 29:11, I came home that night, prayed and re-read it…..at that moment it hit my like a ton of bricks and I fell to my knees. The Lord came to me and I knew I was in the presence of the Father, on my knees trembling before the Lord He reminded me that I had been called, chosen, and separated from the world, as the scripture says “be in the world but not of the world” to live holly life, a Christ filled life, a life devoted to God the Father through Christ. Since that time I have started trying to fulfill my obligations to Christ and my life has taken a turn back to a Christ filled life. It is a daily struggle as I am sure all of you know but I have staked a claim to choose God way in my life above all else and with His help I am trying to fulfill that promise. Watching the video of Scott this morning I realized that I needed to share this with my extended family at Harvest because it was through your Pasteur that I reconnected with the Father. God used the teaching through James to remind me who I was and reclaim the hope that is only found through Christ Jesus. I still struggle on a daily basis and fall short as well but I know God is with me and I know that He will finish the work He started in me. So from the very depths of my soul I would like to thank you Harvest and especially you James for the work you guys are doing, I have a connection to you guys even though none of you know me and I pray that God will continue to use you and your church to change the life’s of people in the world and that through you God will bring many more to the awesome truths of God that can only be found through our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. May the grace and peace of the Father abound in you all the days of your life.

  This is one of the most beautiful testimonies of salvation I’ve ever heard and it always makes me cry. I never fail to claim the power of this testimony on behalf of my husband and ask the Holy Spirit to work in his life. I pray that my husband will have a direct encounter with God and be unable to resist the love of his Heavenly Father for even one more moment of his life.
