A Fresh View of God at Work

June 23, 2011

In Psalm 46:10, the Lord exhorts us to “Be still, and know that I am God.” It’s counsel I need to heed more frequently, and you probably do too. So whatever else you are doing right now, STOP. Cease striving. Take a few minutes for this account of God’s unconditional pursuit of one young man. May He use it to fortify us in this truth: in the end, regardless of how immoveable the obstacles or impossible the odds for redemption, God will be exalted. Be still, and know.

It’s amazing how God takes us through the wilderness to lead us into the promised land.

What an amazing reminder of God’s perfect timing :) His time, not ours…gives me a renewed hope while praying for my loved ones that he always has a perfect plan!

Thanks for this encouragement! This helps me to see that we are part of God’s process and HE is the one who brings people to the point of repentance. I just must be faithful to act when He gives the opportunity. That just happened today and I was worrying about how to continue with a follow-up conversation from one I had with another english speaking dad here overseas. God is in control!!!

James, I love your heart and always have. I know that in the middle of the whirlwind is the quiet place that knows these words – Be still. Know that I am God. Be still.

Really, who cares about all the rest? Its all clutter and vanity – all striving.

    Love you, buddy. Stay still.

James I’ve heard many of your sermons now and they not only inspired me but moved me to know and do God’s word! I see things with more clarity through the Holy Spirit and obedience :)!
Today once again the Lord my God has spoken through you a faithful servant: I was thinking about this verse all day and was getting ready to look for it in the bible and found it readily in your blog!
    God Bless you!

I have lost sight of a lot of things. I have lost my job along with other issue’s with family members I have questioned God. He is my deliverer and I know he is speaking to me. My pastor preached a very similar message, then I heard your message, and some others things my Christian friends have said to me. Praise God..I would ask that any who would be so kind to pray for me. Love in Christ
